Thank you to everyone that came to the fireworks event despite the weather. It was
fabulous to collaborate with the Village Hall and Parish Council to bring a free
community event to the village for all to enjoy. We would like to thank the Parish Council
for the fireworks and Crown Chicken for their generous donation. Thank you to the
Village Hall for hosting and arranging the BBQ. Thank you to The Gooderham’s for use
of their land to let the fireworks off on. Thank you to Greene King for the beer and a big
thank you to all those that braved the weather and came and supported the event. The
funds raised by The Friends of Kenninghall School will go towards extracurricular
activities for the children. Amongst other things we hope to be funding two off site trips
this academic year, as well as other experiences and events.
We are also working with Flowers by Laura and will be holding Wreath Making
Workshops on Tuesday 29th & Wednesday 30th November at 7pm at the School. These
are open to everyone and tickets include mulled wine and mince pies. Come and create
your own masterpiece for your front door.
Our Christmas disco for the children will be held on Friday 8th December, which we
hope will be enjoyed by all.
Tickets for all our events and for more information on The Friends can be found on our
website.
The Friends have also set up and are running an after school Lego club which has
proved extremely popular. It provides a place for collaborative play and for all ages to
mix, with the opportunity to work either individually or as a team. With such a positive
response from the children we are now looking for additional Lego. As a result, if
anyone has any Lego they would like to donate, it would be gratefully received.
By the time of going to print we hope that work will be well underway for our raised beds
project giving the School gardening club somewhere to flourish.
We would like to thank everyone for their continued support in helping us create a
wonderful school for our children and village.
